With the realization of the small-scale concert hall BIJ ANDREAS, a beautiful stage has been created for supporting young musicians, especially piano talents, on their way to their career. There are two grand pianos available, a Steinway B and a Bösendorfer. There is also a Debain harmonium from 1859.

The building with all facilities is very suitable for organizing concerts, master classes and exhibitions.

Thanks to a donation from the estate of its namesake, the Robert F.W. Bruinsma Foundation is able to finance both the initial investments and the activities in the first years. In the long term, however, the foundation will also have to obtain income from third parties to finance its events through fundraising. This will require contributions from visitors as well as from sponsors and donors.

The Naarden International Piano Festival
In May 2019, the Naarden International Piano Festival was organized for the first time. A festival that focuses on bringing together talented piano students from the master’s program in conservatories with master pianists. The students will also meet impresarios, as well as directors of venues and record labels.

In this way we hope to be able to provide students with support on the way to their career.

The 2019 festival resulted in collaboration with the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Two of the selected students have been chosen to give a lunch concert during the 2020 Mahler Festival.

We are happy that the design of the festival was successful. We hope to once again support six students through our festival in the coming years.
